people who refuse to take (at least some) responsibility for the shitty events and circumstances of their lives frustrate me to no end. there are those two ends of the spectrum, and it seems that most people have trouble falling in the middle. you're either that person who blames yourself for absolutely everything, or you're the person who blames everything on everyone else. it takes two to tango. sure, there are things that are completely out of your control in life, but there are so many other things that could go either way if you react to them properly. placing 100% of the blame outside of yourself doesn't help anyone, including yourself, when you do it all the time. you are relieving yourself of most avenues of recourse, because your greatest asset in life is you. i'm not trying to tell anyone how to live their lives, nor am i saying that i have all of the answers. but sometimes, when you're feeling terrible about whatever circumstances, it might be beneficial to everyone involved if you think about what part YOU might be playing in it all. |
