the new spot.

boss took me over to the new location and it's huge and amazing and at the intersection of a major thoroughfare! AND right next door to a fast food place so i can just walk next door to get coffee in the afternoon (i hope it doesn't suck T_T). i am so super excited. he DID take my advice and decided to use the space to expand the range of services we offer - a business that mr. able used to be in, so we'll have a lot of good advice and suppliers and installers to start with. i'm so excited! i feel like THIS is the thing that will get business on the upswing. AND i will finally have my own, nice office (currently boss and i share and he is a fucking mess, i can't wait to get organizers and filing cabinets and shelves!). AND AND there are separate men's and women's bathrooms!!! (we currently have just one that is OUTSIDE, all the way across the parking lot, in a separate building, and you need a key, and it seems like no matter what fucking time of day it is, one of the guys just finished obliterating it.) so, so excited. boss thinks it will probably be about 3 months for the rehab until opening, which from experience i know will actually be 4-5. permits, inspections, unreliable contractors, AND he wants to knock an exterior wall down, and also put some up. he knows it's a lot of work, but he doesn't realize the amount of details. i am imagining the amount of details, but i know that in the coming months, i am going to be SWAMPED. i am the one who makes all of these calls and places all of these orders and stuff. i already have the local utility companies on speed dial. town clerk and the fire marshal know me by name now. haha. i might as well get my tent ready because i'm going to be living over there soon. but anyway, this is going to be so great. i'm so excited for us all. it's also great fortune that this transaction happened at this time of year, when the weather will be nice for most of the construction. great day. |
