the funniest thing about the snow thing that i wrote about earlier was that i forgot the most important interaction of that evening. we were discussing the fact that my brother just got engaged, and how my mom sent him her $8,000 engagement ring to give to his girlfriend, and how i couldn't walk around with a cheap car or half of a down payment for a house on my finger like that. he said, "well i'm going to get you something nice, but it's definitely not going to be that expensive." and you know, i've known for a long time, and we both kind of talk about it without saying, but it's really the first time he's said something that concrete. i'm always second-guessing myself, and us, and everything, but in the end, one day we're getting married. ahh. |
