why can`t things just be easy sometimes?

this entry is only to say that my new keyboard arrived and i am typing on it right now. soooooo happy. really, you have no idea how aggravating it was getting having to WAIT to use my computer if it was cold (like if it had been turned off for a while ... for some reason this caused my keys to stop working), and having to smash certain extremely common letters to get them to work. the only drawback of this operation is the fact that now, the little strip that covers my lights and power button and whatnot won't go back on because the lid of the computer is cracked. there's a very small, specific amount of space that the strip is supposed to fit right into, allowing it to snap back into place and the lid to close, and right now it's not doing either of those things. if i can't get this to work, i need to decide whether i'm never going to be able to close my laptop again, or if i'm going to have to leave a lot of my eleectricals exposed. not happy with that part, but i guess i'd rather that annoyance than a major functional element of the computer being broken. sigh. ETA, like 30 minutes later: i paused what i was doing with my laptop before to post this entry, and when i went back to it, i got the cover back on. it was lucky, and this is the last time i will ever be able to take it off, since i can clearly see where the monitor is about to completely break off from the base, but it's done. this laptop feels as close to new as it has in a looooong time. |
