things in order.
2012-01-20 @ 10:34 a.m.

just because i'm so excited about it, i figured i'd post the pics of my proposed office space. i made it with ikea's old room planner (3D design program with some of their furniture loaded), which luckily had the furniture and shelving i wanted loaded so i could really see the room in its true scale. i showed it to boy, and he's excited about it, and luckily so since ikea furniture = hours of building!

the first view is the one from the door, and the second one is from the back corner, obviously. the one thing the program didn't have pre-loaded was a closet option, so you can't see the closet that my desk will be facing, but it takes up that entire blank wall next to the door.

all of my trim and doors are white, and so is the carpet, and the walls are a dark grey (a cool grey). so i'm going to get all of the furniture in white, and all of the shelving in black, and all accents and accessories will be a hot fuchsia. a fuchsia decal will be on the wall that my desk rests against, and most of the shelves (there will be black corner shelves [crescent] to the right of the window, if you're facing the window) will contain my vast toy collection. this is the best part, for me, that i can finally display all of my stuff. my silly little things make me happy! why was i hiding them in boxes this whole time? why didn't i decide to do this sooner?

i'm just pricing things out today, then i'm going to go up there and tape it out with masking tape to make sure that i'll have enough room to maneuver around, but i'm sure that it will be fine. as it turns out, when i measured my existing desk the other day, it's almost the exact same size as the bookcase i want to get, and it's already sitting in the spot where it will go. i'm going to take a picture of the old desk and take it to the store i got it from (like a wood furniture trading post) and ask if they'd buy it back. even if i make $25 from it, even $10 really, it's huge and old and i'm ready to let it go. they pick up and haul away your stuff too, so i'm doubly delighted by that, because i remember every time i've moved, this desk has been the hugest burden.

so anyway. off the topic of remodeling, i have nothing interesting to say except that this morning i was blowing my nose, and i felt this huge mass fly out. i was like, oh my goodness, what the hell could that have been? i was so concerned that i blew out a chunk of my brain. turns out it was only the ball from my septum jewelry. haha. it's been YEARS since i've lost a ball, so it was a really foreign sensation.

tomorrow is another tattoo appointment. pretty excited about it. this one's REALLY going to hurt, but the pain is totally worth being sexy as hell. now i can't wait til skin season comes around. now, everything about my body is something i like.
