week 1: everything is going perfectly, let it continue in this fashion. boy and i have been SO annoyed and stressed etc by little A's behavior the past ... month, at least, that i think he has finally, finally realized the extent of it and is ready to actively do something about it. YOU know how little A is - i write about it all the time. but i guess boy finally had one too many times of having literally the same exact conversation and was like listen, dude. absolutely nothing has changed in the 3 years that you have lived here. you are ELEVEN years old. and as he was saying this sentence to little A, we both had this horrifying realization: in 6 years he will be 18! i know people grow and change a lot from middle school to high school, but going the way that he is going, he will be a person who is not able to take care of himself. there needs to be some really aggressive intervention, now. not just for his sake, but for all of us. it's an enormous strain on an already delicate situation. so you know, we'll see. but now that i'm the fucking boss you know i'm not going to let it go. |
