feeling valued, appreciated.

last week i was with mr. able for a day, and thought that i was going to be at work for a mostly normal day after i met with him (we usually meet in the morning) but we ended up deciding to just go all in and take as long as it took so we didn't have to scramble around the following week to catch up. i had told boss i'd be in around 2-3 but i wasn't sure. when i finally got to regular work, i parked, went into our office to set my stuff down, and then started heading outside again to see where was boss and what did he need today. as i flung the door open, he was already there, and when he saw me, he gave me this look of pure ... relief? happiness? what a look. i won't forget it. it feels really good to be needed. the other night i was getting ready to leave and he said that without me, none of this expansion stuff would be happening, his other businesses wouldn't be where they are, and the primary business would have just stayed what it is, where it is. boss can be such a pill sometimes, like REALLY annoying sometimes. but he is appreciative of me, and that's more than i can say for a lot of the people in my life. |
